Halvljud started in a rented room in Midsommarkransen in 2014, mostly because a friend had recorded four hours of ice cracking on a lake and nobody would put it out. We put it out. It is still the best thing in the catalogue.
How it runs
Two people, no funding, no office. Mastering is done by whoever has time. Artists keep their rights and get whatever money comes in, which is not much and has never been the point.
Physical releases
Roughly one in five releases gets a tape run. These are made in batches when somebody feels like it, sell out within a month, and are not repressed.
